Aultman Orrville Hospital was recognized by the American Heart Association as a 2012 Fit-Friendly Worksite. The American Heart Association acknowledges organizations nationwide that create a culture of wellness and promote a healthy workplace.
To be selected as a Fit-Friendly worksite, organizations must promote physical activity and nutrition tools such as walking programs, a safe and clean workplace, nutrition education, healthy eating options and fitness facilities. Aultman Orrville meets these requirements through programs such as:
- AHA Start Walking Challenge with four local hospitals.
- Employee wellness program.
- A walking path available around the facility.
- Employee discounted membership to the Aultman Orrville Sports and Wellness Center.
- One-on-one consults with a registered dietitian.
- Smoking cessation classes free to employees and community.
- Healthy eating options.
Aultman Orrville received the gold level award and will receive recognition at local American Heart Association events.
