ORRVILLE, Ohio (Jan. 24, 2017) –Becker's Hospital Review published a list of 47 hospitals throughout the United States with the fastest emergency department discharge times. According to Becker’s Hospital Review, the national average amount of time patients spend in the emergency department before being sent home is 140 minutes.
Becker's Hospital Review reviewed data from CMS' Hospital Compare database and found that some hospitals had shorter wait times than the national average. A list that featured hospitals with an average emergency department discharge time at or below 76 minutes was published by Becker’s Hospital Review. Aultman Orrville Hospital was recognized for an average discharge time of 76 minutes.
