Aultman Announces Free HealthTalks for September

Aultman Hospital presents the following free HealthTalks programs during the month of September. Seating for all HealthTalks is limited, and reservations are required. Call 330-754-4508 or sign up at www.aultman.org. Presentations are for educational purposes only and do not in any way constitute professional advice.

 

Sept. 5: Help for Vertigo Victims will be presented by Chad Gooding, MS, physical therapist, at North Canton Medical Center at 1:30 p.m. Someone with vertigo may feel like their surroundings are moving or spinning. Severe vertigo can cause nausea and headaches. Come learn about the causes, symptoms and most importantly how to get relief from vertigo.

Sept. 16: Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease will be presented by Samantha Sathre, education coordinator at the Alzheimer’s Association, at North Canton Medical Center at 1:30 p.m. What are the top 10 signs of Alzheimer’s disease? Join Sathre to learn the differences between Alzheimer’s disease and typical aging and why early detection is crucial.

Sept. 17: ABCs of Medicare will be presented by a representative from AultCare’s PrimeTime Health Plan at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital at 6 p.m. Learn what people need to know as they approach Medicare eligibility. This educational meeting will help individuals and their loved ones navigate through the Medicare network as they prepare for tomorrow.

Sept. 18: Stroke - Warning Signs and Symptoms will be presented by Jason Bertram, M.D., at Aultman Orrville Hospital at 6 p.m. Initial symptoms of a stroke can occur in someone suddenly. Learn about the warning signs.

Sept. 19: ABCs of Medicare will be presented by a representative from AultCare’s PrimeTime Health Plan at Massillon Recreation Center at 6 p.m. Learn what people need to know as they approach Medicare eligibility. This educational meeting will help individuals and their loved ones navigate through the Medicare network as they prepare for tomorrow.

Sept. 20: Prostate Screenings will be presented by Lee Anne Matthews, M.D., urologist, at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital at noon. September is prostate cancer awareness month. Join Dr. Matthews as she discusses PSA screenings.

Sept. 24: Counting Carbs will be presented by Mechelle Metzgar, RN, diabetic educator, at North Canton Medical Center at 6 p.m. Counting Carbohydrates is easier than most people think. Join Metzgar to learn more.

Sept. 25: ABCs of Medicare will be presented by a representative from AultCare’s PrimeTime Health Plan at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at 6 p.m. Learn what people need to know as they approach Medicare eligibility. This educational meeting will help individuals and their loved ones navigate through the Medicare network as they prepare for tomorrow.
