ORRVILLE, Ohio (Oct. 19, 2018) – To meet the needs of new mothers, Aultman Orrville Hospital is offering a breastfeeding class on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. in the hospital’s obstetrics department. The class provides information and assists mothers to gain confidence in their breastfeeding techniques.
The instructor, who is a registered nurse and international board-certified lactation consultant, will educate new mothers in an anxiety-free environment using a variety of methods including lecture, video and visual aids. Topics will include the stages of breast milk development, the benefits of breastfeeding, breastfeeding techniques and common breastfeeding complications, as well as the opportunity to ask common questions about breastfeeding.
