ORRVILLE, Ohio (Aug. 14, 2014) – Aultman Orrville Hospital will host two health talks in September, as part of a monthly education speaker series.
On Thursday, Sept. 11, “Lumbar Stenosis Facts” will be presented by Phillip Immesoete, M.D., Neurosurgeon at Aultman Hospital. Symptoms of lumbar stenosis include dull or aching back pain spreading to the legs, numbness or ‘pins and needles’ in the legs, calves or buttocks, weakness or loss of balance and a decreased endurance for physical activities. If you or a loved one are dealing with lumbar stenosis, come to learn more! The talk will take place in the Aultman Orrville Community Room at 6 p.m.
“What is MyPlate?” will be presented Wednesday, Sept.17 by Linda Brunk, RN, CPN, ACE-CHC, Aultman’s Community Wellness Nurse and Health Coach. More than one-third of children and two-thirds of adults in the U.S. are overweight or obese. In order to help stop this epidemic, the USDA created the MyPlate food guide icon. Come to find out how you can adopt healthy eating habits, learn about the five food groups that are the building blocks for a healthy diet and receive a free MyPlate placemat! Linda’s talk will begin at 6 p.m. in the Aultman Orrville Community Room.
