Aultman Orrville Hospital (AOH) is offering two training sessions to equip older children and teens with skills to stay safe while at home. The Safe at Home course for students in grades 4 – 6 will be held Saturday, March 2, from 9 – 10:30 a.m., and the Safe Sitter with CPR training course for students who are in grades 6 – 8 will be held Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Safe at Home training helps prepare students to be home alone and includes education on preventing unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as inclement weather or power outages. The Safe Sitter course uses fun games and role-playing exercises to ready students to watch younger siblings or babysit.
The cost is $20 for Safe at Home and $55 for Safe Sitter. Advanced registration is required, and space is limited. For more information or to register, please contact Denise Kelley at 330-684-4700 (ext. 47137) or email denise.kelley@aultman.com.
