Aultman Orrville Teams Up with the AHA to Promote Heart Health to Scouts

by Kristi Spuhler | Sep 06, 2017
ORRVILLE, Ohio (Sept. 5, 2017) – To boost heart-healthy practices and establish good habits at a young age, Aultman Orrville Hospital and the American Heart Association are helping to educate the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of the USA about the importance of keeping their hearts healthy.

This collaboration formed with a single goal in mind: raise awareness of heart disease, stroke and the risks that they pose for men, women and children. By emphasizing good heart-healthy habits early in life, scouts can be on their way to a lifetime of healthy living.

The first 100 scouts who sign in at the Wayne County Heart Walk with proof of being a scout (uniform, sash, etc.) will receive a “Walker Patch” for participating in the walk. The walk will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center – Secrest Arboretum, located at 1680 Madison Ave. in Wooster, Ohio. Registration for the walk and Whiz Bang!, a science and sport show, will both begin at 9 a.m., and the walk will commence at 9:30 a.m.
