Each new year, Aultman Orrville Hospital staff is excited to welcome the first baby of the year. This year, that first baby arrived on Sunday, Jan. 1 at Aultman Orrville. This new bundle of joy made two milestones – not only was he the first born at Aultman Orrville, but also the first born in Wayne County in 2017.
Joseph William Crookston – born at 8 pounds, 5 ounces and measuring 20 inches long – arrived at 12:37 a.m. Joseph’s parents, Christine and Patrick Crookston were thrilled to welcome a healthy baby boy to join his big sister at home.
Another exciting milestone that recently occurred in the Birth Center was the delivery of the 500th baby at Aultman Orrville – a record high for the hospital. Mia Anabela Lopez-Bailey came into the world on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at 7:20 a.m. Born at 8 pounds, 0.5 ounces and measuring 20 inches long, she is the daughter of Victoria Bailey and Daniel Lopez.
Mia’s proud parents were excited to welcome a healthy baby girl into their family to join older brothers, Angel and Izzac.
Mother Victoria Bailey, having grown up and still residing in Orrville, was pleased with the nurses and surgery team at Aultman Orrville. “The whole birthing experience was good.
The rooms are really nice and spacious,” she said. “I definitely feel special delivering the 500th baby.” Brothers Angel and Izzac were also born at Aultman Orrville.
“We were honored to have Victoria and Daniel return to us for their care during the birth of their third child,” said Aultman Orrville Hospital OB Unit Director Tara Snyder, MSN, RNC-EFM. “When we realized that they were also our 500th delivery, we were even more excited.”
