ORRVILLE, Ohio – December was a very busy month for the staff in the Aultman Orrville Birth Center. A total of 47 babies were delivered during the month of December, making it a record month for the hospital.
The average number of deliveries at Aultman Orrville each month is approximately 30. December’s number just passed the previous record for the facility, which was set in February of 2013 with 46 babies delivered.
“It was an exciting month for us here at Aultman Orrville Hospital. It was a pleasure to help bring so many new lives, including two sets of twins, into the community,” Tara Snyder, Aultman Orrville Hospital OB unit director said.
Aultman Orrville Hospital is well-prepared to handle all kinds of deliveries with their updated maternal-fetal surveillance system and the latest in electronic medical record software. “Although we like to focus on low-risk and low-intervention care, we are pleased to have the capability to closely monitor babies during labor when needed,” Snyder said.
With the incorporation of FetalLink, the hospital’s medical record software, the nurses and doctors have the capability of viewing the fetal heart rate from multiple locations outside of the patient’s room to allow for closer observation during labor. The Aultman Orrville Birth Center strives to provide the best care possible to all patients in the obstetrics department.
