ORRVILLE, Ohio (Oct. 24, 2014) – Aultman Orrville Hospital will host three health talks in November and December, as part of a monthly education speaker series. This series was established in response to the community’s rising need for trusted, accurate health information.

On Wednesday, Nov. 5, Dr. Jeffrey Marsh, from Aultman’s Compassionate Care Center, will present “Advanced Directives Decision Making.” It’s important for individuals to create a written plan that states the health care treatments they prefer, in the event they aren’t able to communicate these decisions on their own. Join us as we discuss the different options available with advance directives and end-of-life decisions during this presentation.

Aultman Orrville Hospital Dietitian Bobbie Randall, RD, LD, CDE, will present “A Meal Plan for Thanksgiving” on Wednesday, Nov. 12. During this presentation, Randall will discuss simple ways to create healthy alternatives for many traditional Thanksgiving favorites. Join others in the community to learn how to prepare a guilt-free Thanksgiving meal.

Jim Foley, MWS, LISW-S, from the Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties, will present “Preventing Holiday Depression” on Thursday, Dec. 4. While the holiday season is often filled with enjoyable gatherings with family and friends, some individuals may be filled with sadness, loneliness and anxiety. Foley will provide practical tips that can minimize the stress that sometimes accompanies the holiday season.
