ORRVILLE, Ohio (May 1, 2014) – Aultman Orrville Hospital will host three upcoming health talks in May, as part of a monthly education speaker series.

“Summer Diabetes Management” will be presented Wednesday, May 7 by Kalpana Raghunathan, M.D. of Aultman Orrville Endocrinology. Summer means barbeques, vacations and festivals – come learn how to manage your diabetes during these fun events to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Raghunathan’s talk will begin at 6 p.m. in the Aultman Orrville Community Room.

On Tuesday, May 13, “Living with Celiac Disease” will be presented by Clinical Dietitian Bobbie Randall. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder in which the body mistakenly reacts to gluten as if it were a poison. Unfortunately, there is no cure, but following a gluten-free diet can help manage symptoms. Come and learn more about living gluten-free from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Aultman Orrville Community Room.

On Thursday, May 22, Aultman Orrville Sports & Wellness Manager Dave Speicher will present “Understanding Exercise is Medicine™.” Exercise is Medicine is a global initiative to help people understand how the right amount and type of exercise can benefit their health, or help manage chronic health conditions along with their physician’s plan of care. Come to learn the tools and resources to be empowered through this initiative to live a healthier lifestyle.
