ORRVILLE, Ohio (Dec. 14, 2012) – The Aultman Orrville Hospital Birth Center welcomed a newborn into the world on Wednesday, Dec. 12 – a birthday that will be easily remembered by family and friends. Aralynn Murillo was born two weeks early, and it fell on this century’s last sequential date of 12/12/12.

At a petite 6 pounds, 4 ounces, Aralynn was the only lucky baby born at Aultman Orrville that day. Aralynn’s happy mother, Melanie Bevins-Murillo of Orrville, is just thrilled to have a healthy baby. According to Melanie, her mother-in-law predicted that Aralynn would be born on 12/12/12; a date considered by some to represent luck.

“I had a rough pregnancy, so my mother-in-law thought it would be fitting for the baby to have a unique birthday,” Melanie said.

As for the superstition of 12/12/2012, Melanie is skeptical of the luck it may bring her new daughter. Ironically, Aralynn is her third child, and the number three is associated with luck.

“All I do know is she’s a beautiful baby,” Melanie stated. “With a birthday that is easy to remember!”
