Aultman Orrville Hospital recently announced the winner of its first annual Random Acts of Kindness Poster Competition for high school students in Wayne County.

Orrville High School senior Allyson Amstutz was awarded a $100 gift card for her poster. She is the daughter of Matt and Sandy Amstutz of Orrville.

Amstutz’s poster centered around a quote by Greek author Aesop: “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” The poster featured a butterfly being released. Amstutz used colored pencils and permanent marker to create the poster.

“It was a great challenge selecting the top poster,” said Loretta Raff, BSN, RN, director of population health. “After the community vote took place on Facebook, the posters were submitted to a panel of three judges. The judges based the selection criteria on theme, creativity, artistic quality and neatness.”

Raff thanked all the participants who entered this year’s event. She anticipates the competition will become an annual event.
